Meet the Librarians

Catherine Goldsmith – Lead Librarian

Catherine comes to Monkton after nine years in Starksboro as library director. She lives in Hinesburg and is the mother of three mostly grown children. Passionate about lifelong learning, Catherine has a BA in History and a Masters of Library Science.

Kat Cyr, assistant librarian, has worked off and on at the RML library since elementary school. An avid reader of “genre fiction” like sci-fi, fantasy, and horror; she is happy to recommend her favorite reads. Kat’s day job is in inter-library loan at the Davis Family Library in Middlebury. You can find her at RML for Nerd Night (games for ages 13+) and Stitch & Spin (Third Sunday of each month). New faces at the library are Meg Ritter from Starksboro and longtime Monkton resident Laura Farrell. Both will be working on an occasional Saturday and filling in for Catherine’s vacations. Meg will also be reading books and singing songs for young children on Wednesday mornings at 10:30.
